nThe Trade Relations & Medication Access Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, specialty pharmacy networks, wholesalers, patient support programs, and other external stakeholders while overseeing medication access initiatives that ensure timely patient access to specialty therapies. This position serves as a key liaison between the health system's specialty pharmacy, ambulatory clinics, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and patient support organizations to optimize specialty pharmacy performance, expand access to limited distribution medications, improve patient outcomes, and support organizational growth objectives.

nBaptist Health is looking for a Trade Relations & Medication Access Manager to join our Pharmacy team! This is a remote position for residents of KY and IN.
nDevelop and maintain relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers and manufacturer representatives.
nIdentify and pursue opportunities for inclusion in limited distribution drug (LDD) networks.
nCoordinate manufacturer business reviews and strategic planning meetings.
nMonitor manufacturer network requirements and performance expectations.
nCollaborate with specialty pharmacy leadership on manufacturer contracting opportunities.
nSupport onboarding and implementation of new specialty drug programs.
nServe as the primary point of contact for manufacturer-sponsored initiatives and patient support programs.
nEvaluate opportunities to expand specialty pharmacy services and therapeutic offerings.
nCollaborate with clinic leadership to improve internal referral pathways.
nIdentify barriers to retaining specialty prescriptions within the health system.
nSupport accreditation-related manufacturer requirements.
nOversee medication access workflows including:
nBenefits investigation
nPrior authorization
nAppeals
nFinancial assistance
nPatient assistance programs
nDevelop strategies to reduce therapy initiation delays.
nMonitor access-related performance metrics.
nEscalate complex access issues with payers, manufacturers, and providers.
nCoordinate participation in manufacturer HUB programs.
nManage relationships with patient support program representatives.
nTrack available financial assistance resources and foundation grants.
nMonitor specialty pharmacy business performance indicators.
nAnalyze referral leakage and capture rates.
nTrack LDD access opportunities and manufacturer engagement outcomes.
nMinimum Requirements
nBachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy required.
nMBA, MHA or related advanced degree preferred.
nKentucky Board of Pharmacy license in good standing.
nThree years of ambulatory pharmacy, pharmaceutical industry, medication access, managed care, or healthcare operations experience.
nExperience working with specialty medications and manufacturer programs.
nSpecialty pharmacy experience within a health system.
nExperience with manufacturer contracting or trade relations.
nFamiliarity with URAC and ACHC accreditation standards.
nKnowledge of specialty pharmacy economics, payer contracting, and limited distribution networks.
