Adverse Event And Product Complaint Reporting Specialist

This role focuses on creating, reviewing, and submitting accurate adverse event and product complaint reports based on information documented in a patient management system. The specialist collaborates closely with clinicians, supports quality assurance activities, and prepares reconciliation reports for biopharma clients. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Responsibilities
  • Create and submit adverse event and product complaint reports using data documented within the patient management system.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks of all reports, including verification of spelling, drug manufacturer information, grammar, and overall completeness of the note.
  • Communicate proactively with clinicians to clarify questions or concerns related to the content or quality of adverse event and product complaint reporting.
  • Identify missing adverse events and product complaints through the daily quality control process and promptly report these to clinicians.
  • Ensure all identified missing adverse event and product complaint reports are submitted, tracked, and fully accounted for.
  • Maintain, prepare, and submit weekly or monthly reconciliation reports to biopharma clients in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Assist clinical auditors in identifying trends, patterns, or issues in adverse event and product complaint reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement of reporting processes by flagging recurring issues and suggesting enhancements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support clinical, quality, or reporting operations.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a pharmacy setting preferred.
  • Oncology experience considered a strong plus.
  • Pharmacy technician or other clinical background preferred.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience, ideally in a healthcare, pharmacy, or call center environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Competence with moderate to advanced computer skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets, including data entry and basic analysis.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively and professionally with clinicians and other stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a conscientious approach to quality.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a changing workload or environment.
  • Ability to type rapidly and accurately, including both numerical and text data.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Pharmacy technician certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience in oncology or working with oncology-related data is a plus.
  • Background in a call center or high-volume customer contact environment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with patient management systems or electronic health record platforms is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting clinical auditors or quality assurance initiatives is helpful.
Work Environment

This is a remote work-from-home position that requires comfort working independently with minimal direct supervision. The role involves frequent use of computers, patient management systems, and Excel spreadsheets throughout the day. The specialist works collaboratively with clinicians and internal teams via electronic communication and virtual meetings. Success in this environment depends on reliable internet access, a quiet and professional workspace, and the ability to stay organized, self-directed, and focused while managing detailed clinical and reporting tasks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cary, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
