Pharmacy Floor Technician
Location: Columbus, OH 43228
Pay: $24.25 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4:00 PM - Close
Terms: Contract to Hire
Additional Requirements: Rotating weekends, overtime, and holiday shifts may be required based on business needs.
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Floor Technician to join our pharmacy operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking, labeling, scanning, packaging, and preparing prescriptions for final verification by a licensed pharmacist. The ideal candidate will be committed to quality, efficiency, compliance, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities

• Accurately fill daily medication orders under the supervision of a pharmacist.
• Pick and pull medications from shelving and other designated storage areas.
• Label, scan, and prepare prescription products for pharmacist verification.
• Apply labels to blister cards and scan products to ensure accuracy.
• Notify the pharmacist of any medications or products that do not scan properly.
• Assist with the processing, recycling, and disposal of returned medications in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepack, label, and store frequently ordered medications during lower-volume periods.
• Package materials and products manually for distribution.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked workstation.
• Follow all applicable company policies and government regulations, including HIPAA requirements.
• Adhere to safety, attendance, and dress code standards.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active and unrestricted Ohio Pharmacy Technician License issued by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous pharmacy technician experience.
• Experience working in a high-volume pharmacy or healthcare environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and stoop intermittently throughout the workday.
• Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods (up to 7-10 hours per day).
• May be required to work extended hours when business needs demand.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office and pharmacy equipment.
• Visual acuity to read fine print, distinguish colors, and adjust focus as needed.
• Ability to hear and respond to normal conversational speech.
