GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: United Digestive’s Pharmacy Operations Manager assists the Director of Ancillary Services to facilitate smooth and efficient pharmacy operations. (S)he interprets physicians' prescriptions and dispenses medications, including high dollar specialty medications within regulatory, accreditation, and policy guidelines.REPORTS TO: Director of Ancillary ServicesRESPONSIBILITIES:Duties may include but are not limited to:Responsible for compliance, operations, and financial performance of the UD PharmacyWill be designated as the Pharmacist in Charge for the facilityAdheres to all pharmacy, state and federal laws and regulationsManages dispensing, clinical review, patient care, and provider communicationMeticulously manages drug therapies to identify, prevent and resolve medication-related problems (e.g. Counsels patients and/or medical staff and handles problem resolution)Completes patient records, initial assessments, medication profiles, initial fill notes and continuing progress notesDocuments any and all interactions with patients and prescribers in the appropriate systems in compliance with protocolParticipates in the coordination of care to meet patient outcomes and goals including, initial referral, medication review and selection, assessment of medication delivery system, patient care plans, compliance programs, and discharge of patients from servicesManages, coaches and trains technician staffReviews the work of technical staffPerforms On-Call activities as requiredApplies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education, specialty pharmacy certification, or work experiencePerforms all other duties as assignedREQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:PharmD degree or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy; minimum of 3 years of Pharmacy experience or 1-2 years of Specialty Pharmacy experience is preferred. Management experience preferred. Valid pharmacy licensure in the State of Georgia required.ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Pharmacy Operations Manager must be able to:Provide a high level of customer service at all timesPlan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks as delegatedWork independently with general supervisionWork under pressure; assess, respond to, and communicate issues in a timely mannerMaintain composure and set a professional example for coworkersCommunicate clearly with patients, clients, and coworkers through the telephone, email, and in-personBuild positive working relationships with Administrative Team, Office Managers, Ancillary Staff, Office Staff, and ProvidersInterpret and apply appropriate policies and proceduresBe reliable, punctual, and able to work independentlyMaintain the strictest confidentialityPHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSRequires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
