The Manager, Pharmacy Operations supports the Director of Pharmacy in the direction of the operations of the Pharmacy Department.
Responsibilities
- Assumes duties of Director of Pharmacy in his/her absence.
- Supervises the compounding, dispensing, ordering, and proper storage of all pharmaceuticals.
- Develops and implements appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the appropriate operations of the department.
- Directs the work of pharmacy staff.
- Assists in assuring JCAHO requirements and Medicare conditions of participation.
- Maintains a system of record keeping, accountability, and documentation with the current applicable local, state, and federal statues regarding the practice of pharmacy.
- Performs duties of a staff pharmacist as needed.
Requirements
- Education: Pharm. D. or BS in Pharmacy
- Experience: 5 years or residency training; 2 years hospital Pharmacy management
- Licensure/Certification: Pharmacy license
Preferred
- Education: Master's preferred
- Experience: Pharmacy residency or fellowship training
