Job Purpose and Summary
As a Pharmacy Manager, you will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices and leading through change. You will reinforce a culture of excellence, demonstrate genuine care, and set the bar for performance. The Pharmacy Manager consistently exhibits best practices in dispensing, counseling, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Live our purpose by improving patient health through safe dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through coaching and follow‑up.
- Ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing workflow procedures and using safety guardrails.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, collaborating with the healthcare team, and resolving insurance or medication issues.
- Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; support technicians in immunization training.
- Manage pharmacy inventory by following best practices, especially for cold chain products.
- Conduct onboarding for Technicians and Pharmacists in store and district; ensure timely completion of required training and licensure.
- Ensure full compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; raise issues to the Rx DL as needed.
- Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues and oversee their training.
- Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists (where applicable); manage performance and conduct annual reviews.
- Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; oversee pharmacy scheduling.
- Review business reporting, develop action plans to address gaps in workflow, service, patient care, and compliance.
- Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion; build psychological safety and encourage feedback.
- Maintain clinical and technical skills; pursue continued learning and expand knowledge to better support patients.
- Provide pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permitted.
- Understand and comply with all federal and state regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies, including controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- 1‑2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.

- Maintain visual acuity for transcription, terminal work, and inspection of small parts.

Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program.
- 3‑5 years of related experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work at the home store and at other locations to meet business needs.

Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$65.00 - $81.00 per hour. The base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. This position is eligible for CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive programs in addition to the base pay range.
