Are you an experienced Pharmacist ready to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to provide pharmacy leadership while continuing to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care in the Metro Lexington, KY area.

The pharmacy is currently operating on reduced hours due to staffing shortages:

  • Monday–Friday: 9:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM–3:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Anticipated Future Schedule

Future hours are expected to expand to:

  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–8:00 PM

Lead. Support. Make an Impact.

As the Pharmacist in Charge, you will help oversee daily pharmacy operations while ensuring compliance, medication safety, quality patient care, and a strong team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee prescription review, verification, and dispensing
  • Ensure compliance with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy regulations and applicable federal laws
  • Supervise, support, and develop pharmacy technicians and interns
  • Provide medication counseling and promote safe and effective medication use
  • Review prescriptions for appropriate dosing, interactions, and potential safety concerns
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Oversee medication inventory, ordering, storage, and controlled medication processes
  • Administer immunizations and provide authorized clinical pharmacy services
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records and documentation
  • Lead quality assurance, medication safety, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Ensure ongoing professional development and licensure requirements are maintained

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD ) degree from an accredited institution
  • Active Kentucky Pharmacist License in good standing
  • Qualifications necessary to serve as Pharmacist in Charge under applicable Kentucky requirements
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical care, drug therapy, and medication safety
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively lead a pharmacy team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and electronic health records
