Pharmacy Clinical Specialist – Epilepsy Ambulatory

This role is an embedded clinical pharmacist within specialty neurology clinics, partnering closely with neurologists, epileptologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, and clinic staff to support complex epilepsy patients. The focus is longitudinal outpatient care through in‑person and virtual visits, therapeutic drug monitoring, and evidence‑based optimization of anti‑seizure medication regimens. You will play a central role in medication safety, patient and caregiver education, shared decision‑making, and collaboration within small, specialized ambulatory teams. Eligibility: $10,000 sign‑on bonus and relocation reimbursement. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Routinely and continually provide pharmaceutical care for patients, considering their age and clinical condition.
• Provide general and patient‑specific drug information to patients, physicians, nurses, and other health‑care professionals.
• Support Clinical Pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to patients by direct interaction and formal educational programs.
• Maintain expertise in areas of practice through continual learning, journal review, and other educational activities.
• Educate Clinical Pharmacists, Technicians, Pharmacy Students, Post‑Graduate Trainees, and other caregivers in pharmacotherapy within the specialty area.

Minimum Qualifications

• PharmD or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligibility within 90 days of hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire (if administering immunizations).
• Completion of a Post‑Graduate Year 2 Residency (PGY‑2) or fellowship OR completion of a Post‑Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY‑1) and two years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or an equivalent role, providing pharmaceutical care and performing pharmacotherapeutic monitoring for at least 50 % of time in the specialty area OR four years of experience as a Clinical Specialist or an equivalent role, with at least 50 % time in the specialty area.

• Board certification.

Physical Requirements

• Typical physical demands include ability to stand and walk for prolonged times (approximately 75 % of shift) continuously.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions and ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
• Reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps, and sitting.
• Normal or corrected vision.
• Clear verbal communication by phone or in person.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $101,900.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $155,390.00

The pay range reflects the anticipated range for new hires. Compensation will be determined after considering experience, skill set, and education. The range does not include benefits such as healthcare, dental, vision, or retirement savings contributions.
