Patient care assignment may include neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.Detailed responsibilities:Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients compound and prepare medication emulsions liquids powders and ointments using graduates balance mortars pestles and funnelsFill prescriptions from bulk stock fill bottles capsules and other package forms with measured amounts of medication according to prescriptionType labels for medication and IV solutionsPrice patient medications completes patient charge slipsReceive and stock ordered suppliesMake rounds pick up orders deliver prescriptionsFile physicians orders and patient drug charges file controlled substance usage forms provide phone support assists in department maintenance functionsFollow patient safety-related policies procedures and protocolsDemonstrate proactive approach to patient safety by seeking opportunities to improve patient safety through questioning of current policies and processesIdentify and report/correct environmental conditions and/or situations that may put a patient at undue riskReport potential or actual patient safety concerns medical errors and/or near misses in a timely mannerEncourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right"Qualifications:Education:Courses completed 1st sem of the college of Pharm curriculumExperience:No minimum experience requiredCredentials:CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 daysLicensed Pharmacy Intern in NM or obtain w/in 90 DOHPhysical Conditions:Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Working conditions:Minor Hazard - physical risks dirt dust fumes noiseTuberculosis testing is completed upon hire and additionally as required
