Description
The Pharmacist interprets physician prescriptions and medication orders.
They should also act as a drug information resource to patients, medical
staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Compounds and
dispenses prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient
care by performing the related duties.
Education
- Doctorate of Pharmacy degree preferred or Bachelor of Science degree
in Pharmacy.
- Graduate from accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Education in all age groups ranging from newborn to the geriatric
population obtained either in school education, experience or
subsequent training.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience or equivalent.
- One year ASHP accredited hospital pharmacy residency or equivalent
preferred.
- Management training or equivalent managerial experience preferred.

Specific Skills
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in

- Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Automated pharmacy systems
- IV Laminar Flow Hood or Glove Box intravenous preparation
- Self-directed, motivated and capable of overseeing support
personnel.
Computer Skills
- Microsoft Word (required), Excel (required) and PowerPoint
(preferred)
- Pyxis or other automated dispensing machines (preferred)
- Electronic Medical Record Experience (required)
- Licenses:**Current Pharmacist licensure in the State of Arizona
- Certifications:**Current BLS/CPR certification
