Key responsibilities of the Pharmacist include:

• Accept and dispense prescription medications
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
• Ensure legal supply and suitability of medicines prescribed to patients
• Accurately maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files
• Advise patients on medications and address related queries
• Provide consultations on prescription and non-prescription medications
• Offer patient services such as smoking cessation and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on proper use of medical devices
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions
• Supervise pharmacy staff and maintain inventory
• Identify drug-related problems and communicate with healthcare practitioners
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other pharmacists

Requirements of the Pharmacist include:

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree
• Licensed by the state pharmacy board
