A recognized services organization is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join their staff in a Remote role, supporting the clinical review of Drug Utilization Review (DUR) for pharmacy customers.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Afternoons/Evenings
- Hours: 1pm to 11pm (PST)
- Setting: Remote / Work From Home
- Locations: Candidates must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Texas, Indiana, New Hampshire, Florida, New York, or Washington.
- Notes: Arizona-based candidates are strongly preferred
- Perform clinical review of Drug Utilization Review (DUR) alerts and pharmacy orders
- Maintain comprehensive customer profiles, including current and past medical history, clinical and laboratory data, and concurrent medications, including over-the-counter medications and home remedies.
- Evaluate the Physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration
- Utilize, monitor, and troubleshoot automated dispensing and fulfillment systems to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely preparation of prescription orders
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Technicians and Engineering teams to resolve automation issues, optimize workflows, and maintain compliance with quality and safety standards
- Accurately dispense controlled substances in accordance with DEA regulations and state-specific laws
- Maintain thorough, timely, and auditable records of all controlled substance transactions, including inventory management, reconciliation, and reporting requirements
- Answer clinical questions and provide guidance and document all healthcare team communications.
- Investigate and resolve medication errors
- Implement policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal laws
- Maintain required regulatory documentation and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Support pharmacy operations across departments as needed
- Perform other duties, as needed
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Pharm.D. degree
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy License in the state of employment (additional licenses may be required)
- Proficiency with basic computer functions and pharmacy systems
- Exemplary interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work overnight hours and support Pacific Time (PST) operations
- Solid understanding of Pharmacy laws and Federal/State regulations
- Ability to manage high call volume while maintaining quality customer service
