Join our team as a PRN Pharmacist, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective, and timely medication therapy for patients while serving as a trusted resource for physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals.What You'll DoAs a PRN Pharmacist, you will oversee all aspects of medication management and help optimize patient outcomes through clinical expertise and interdisciplinary collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesMedication Management & Clinical ServicesVerify and review medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, dosing, route, frequency, and therapeutic effectiveness.Monitor patient medication therapy and identify potential drug interactions, contraindications, allergies, and therapeutic duplications.Recommend, resolve, and prevent medication-related problems through direct collaboration with physicians and healthcare providers.Provide medication therapy assessments and recommendations to support the best possible patient care.Deliver drug information and education to patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.Respond to complex medication-related inquiries and clinical consultations.Pharmacy OperationsOversee the preparation, labeling, dispensing, and distribution of medications.Ensure pharmacy services are delivered efficiently and in a timely manner.Verify the accuracy of compounded and prepared medications completed by pharmacy technicians and support staff.Follow all departmental policies, procedures, protocols, and regulatory standards related to medication preparation and distribution.Assist with operational leadership and supervise pharmacy technicians and support personnel as needed.Quality, Safety & ComplianceMaintain strict confidentiality of patient, visitor, and coworker information.Comply with all regulatory requirements, including HIPAA, patient safety standards, medication-use safety practices, infection prevention, and security protocols.Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.Utilize internal and external resources to support continuous pharmacy operational improvement.Training & Professional DevelopmentParticipate in the orientation and training of pharmacists, technicians, residents, students, and support staff.Pursue ongoing professional development through educational programs and professional activities.Foster a collaborative, team-focused environment by providing and receiving constructive feedback.QualificationsRequired: Bachelor of Science (BS) in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited school or college of pharmacy.Current Pharmacist License issued by the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.Preferred: Previous retail pharmacy experience.Pharmacists practicing in Missouri must obtain a Medication Therapy Services Certificate issued by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire.Why Join Us?This is an outstanding opportunity for a pharmacist seeking flexibility while making a meaningful impact on patient care.
