Oversees the preparation and dispensing of medication, medication order verification, and ensures the monitoring of patient medication therapy. Acts as a resource for the provision of medication information for patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Identifies, recommends, resolves, and prevents medication‑related problems through intervention with physicians. Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel to ensure the timeliness of medication administration. Follows approved policies, procedures, protocols, and regulatory standards in executing job responsibilities.
Position Details:
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an AACSB accredited school or college of pharmacy.
- Licensure: Current pharmacist license from applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
- Preferred Experience: Previous retail experience is preferred but not required.
- Preferred Certifications: Pharmacists practicing in Missouri must have a Medication Therapy Service Certificate issued by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of start date.
