How you’ll contribute

  • Developing and coordinating clinical pharmacy services including antibiotic management, renal dosing program, pharmacokinetic monitoring, IV to PO conversions, etc.
  • Educating staff pharmacists in the provision of clinical services, monitoring quality of clinical services and serving as a resource for pharmacy staff, nursing staff and medical staff.
  • Managing drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reviewing, interpreting and evaluating medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug‑related problems.
  • Providing drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, patients and pharmacy students.
  • Documenting interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality‑improvement efforts.
  • Evaluating medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry, and checking for accuracy after filling by technicians.
  • Maintaining adequate knowledge of pharmacy automated systems and computer software.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current NC Pharmacy licensure or must be completed within 90 days of hire by either examination or reciprocity required and possess a bachelor’s degree Ph.D./M.D./D.D.S. or Doctorate in Pharmacy preferred from an accredited college/university.

Minimum of two years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel & Outlook, Meditech preferred.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
