Position Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare, verify, and dispense medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
  • Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence‑based medication use.
  • Monitor drug therapies for interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy; recommend adjustments when needed.
  • Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers, patients, and families on medication selection, side effects, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, legal records, and compliance with all pharmacy regulations.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to quality standards.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, embracing new technologies and innovations that enhance patient care.
  • Step in for the pharmacy manager as needed to ensure continuity of service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacy license in any U.S. state or territory.
  • 2-3 years of experience in pharmacy practice (retail or outpatient experience preferred).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and electronic records.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
