Position Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, verify, and dispense medications according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, ensuring safe, effective, and evidence‑based medication use.
- Monitor drug therapies for interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy; recommend adjustments when needed.
- Provide expert consultation to healthcare providers, patients, and families on medication selection, side effects, and best practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation, legal records, and compliance with all pharmacy regulations.
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy support staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and adherence to quality standards.
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives, embracing new technologies and innovations that enhance patient care.
- Step in for the pharmacy manager as needed to ensure continuity of service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active, unrestricted pharmacy license in any U.S. state or territory.
- 2-3 years of experience in pharmacy practice (retail or outpatient experience preferred).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic records.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
