PharmacistLocation: Fall River Mills, CAShift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hoursContract Duration: 13 WeeksPay: $75 to $79 per hourPosition Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Independent Retail Pharmacist to join our community-focused pharmacy team. In this role, you will provide personalized healthcare services, patient-centered care, and medication management while building strong relationships with customers and supporting the health of the local community. Under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), the pharmacist is responsible for all areas of retail pharmaceutical services for MMH, including procurement, distribution, storage, and safe administration of medications by appropriate staff.

This role is vital in fostering community trust and delivering the personalized service that sets Mayers Pharmacy apart from chain retailers.Key ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate professional behavior while on duty and as a representative of MMHD.Build positive working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, and staff.Maintain confidentiality of payroll, personnel, and patient information.Manage time effectively and complete assigned work accurately and on schedule.Communicate clearly and professionally with leadership, coworkers, and the public.Maintain organized records and documentation related to pharmacy operations.Utilize Microsoft Office applications and office equipment effectively.Perform additional duties as assigned.Pharmacy OperationsCompound and dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceuticals.Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, interactions, and appropriateness.Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, dosage, and storage when accepted.Supervise pharmacy staff involved in mixing, packaging, and labeling medications.Ensure compliance with pharmacist-to-technician and pharmacist-to-intern ratios per law.Maintain quality assurance standards, controlled substance security, and hazardous waste disposal procedures.Enter prescription, billing, inventory, and patient data into pharmacy systems.Resolve third-party prescription claim rejections promptly.Report prescription errors immediately and follow medication incident policies.Maintain loss prevention controls and minimize profit loss.Develop strong working relationships with physicians and healthcare professionals.Customer & Community FocusDeliver personalized and patient-centered care.Engage patients in pharmacy customer service and program offerings.Support medication adherence and wellness initiatives.Provide tailored pharmacy solutions such as compounding or specialized services.Strengthen community trust through exceptional service and accessibility.Professional DevelopmentStay current on changing laws, regulations, and pharmacy programs.Participate in continuing education and training opportunities.Attend meetings, annual evaluations, and required education sessions.Uphold the mission, ethics, and goals of Mayers Memorial Hospital District.QualificationsActive Pharmacist License in the State of California.Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.Current BLS Certification.Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing retail pharmacy services.Required annual continuing education to maintain licensure and competency.Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff and leadership.Working ConditionsWillingness to work beyond normal business hours when needed.Ability to interact with staff, patients, visitors, and government agencies.Ability to work independently with integrity, flexibility, and professionalism.Physical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, bend, lift, walk, and move throughout the workday.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
