SUMMARY
Medical Assistant / MA will assist with various health care services and perform administrative functions such as coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, and taking phone messages. Under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Practice Provider, the MA will provide care within scope of Medical Assistant Certification or Registration to patients referred to the clinic and support the health care team. The MA will also serve as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and for instruction of medical assistant students, and will be responsible for one project or initiative annually in areas such as Services Excellence, Quality, Staff Development, Information Technology, or Medical Group functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with various health care services.

- Providing care within scope of Medical Assistant Certification or Registration under provider supervision.
- Serving as a trained preceptor for new medical assistant orientation and instruction of medical assistant students.
- Leading one project or initiative annually in areas such as Services Excellence, Quality, Staff Development, Information Technology, or Medical Group functions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- Two (2) years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient practice or clinical specialty area.
- Active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Computer skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s Degree.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
