Pharmacist (RPh) - Long-Term Care Pharmacy
Pay Rate: $65

Schedule
Current Schedule (through 10/4/2026):

• Monday through Friday
• 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM

Effective 10/5/2026: The pharmacy will transition to a rotating 5-week schedule with the following start times:

• Week 1: 6:00 AM
• Week 2: 8:00 AM
• Week 3: 8:00 AM
• Week 4: 9:00 AM
• Week 5: 1:00 PM

Each 5-week rotation includes weekend coverage:

• Saturday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Sunday: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Position Summary
We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist (RPh) to support pharmacy operations within a fast-paced long-term care environment. The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while supporting pharmacy management's operational goals and regulatory compliance initiatives.
This role requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to manage workflow priorities to ensure optimal patient care and customer service.

Essential Responsibilities
Pharmacy Operations

• Execute daily pharmacy operations, including workflow management, production quotas, and deadline adherence.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing, verification, and dispensing of prescription medications.
• Monitor and maintain daily workflow dashboards to ensure all tasks are completed.
• Review new and refill prescriptions for completeness, appropriateness, and accuracy.
• Verify the accuracy of medication packaging, labeling, and dispensing activities.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy practice.
• Adhere to all DEA guidelines, policies, and procedures, including controlled substance requirements.
• Maintain compliance with third-party payer contracts and regulatory standards.
• Follow all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA requirements.

Leadership & Staff Oversight

• Supervise pharmacy production staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor pharmacy security and operational procedures.
• Provide timely, candid, and constructive feedback to team members.
• Support employee development and contribute to a positive, high-performing work environment.

Clinical & Medication Management

• Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of sterile IV medications and solutions.
• Assist with the ordering, receiving, storage, documentation, and management of controlled substances.
• Help maintain perpetual inventory records for Schedule II medications.
• Utilize clinical expertise to identify and address drug-drug, drug-disease, drug-food interactions, allergies, and other medication-related concerns.

Additional Responsibilities

• Participate in scheduled on-call rotations, including evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed.
• Maintain compliance with departmental safety, attendance, and dress code policies.
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays when business needs require.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily within a long-term care pharmacy setting and may utilize standard office and pharmacy equipment, including:

• Computers
• Telephones
• Photocopiers
• Fax machines
• Filing systems
• Rolling carts

A significant portion of work is performed in a long-term care environment where noise levels may occasionally be elevated.
Physical Requirements
The physical demands listed below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role:

• Sit or stand for 7 to 10 hours per day.
• Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, and walk.
• Work extended hours as needed.
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Perform duties within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications
Required Education

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

Required Licensure

• Current Pharmacist license in good standing.
