Pharmacist - Denham Springs, LA

Pharmacist opportunity supporting Medication Therapy Management (MTM) in a specialty pharmacy environment offers a 13-week contract-to-hire position with flexible onsite or remote options. This role requires a licensed pharmacist with multi-state credentials, delivering expert clinical pharmacy services focused on safe, effective medication use.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and dispense pharmaceuticals per physician orders following established protocols
• Interpret and accurately transcribe verbal and written prescriptions into patient medication profiles
• Maintain comprehensive and precise pharmacy patient records
• Dispense medications accurately, including controlled substances with proper documentation
• Monitor medication regimens for contraindications, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing
• Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly
• Provide clinical consultation and suggest cost-effective therapeutic alternatives as needed
• Document all clinical activities and interventions thoroughly
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medication use reviews
• Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify their daily work
• Organize and prioritize pharmacy services ensuring timely delivery with minimal supervision
• Conduct medication storage inspections and manage outdated inventory
• Respond professionally to telephone and in-person inquiries

Qualifications:

• Current Louisiana pharmacist license required
• Possession of licenses in at least five additional states from the following list: Alaska, Arkansas, California, District of Columbia, Delaware, Hawaii, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming
• Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience required
• Commitment to acquiring licensure in at least 10 additional states within 18 months beyond Louisiana
