Pharmacist Position
The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations in a high-volume setting, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires the ability to operate independently while supporting both retail and long-term care pharmacy services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications
- Oversee daily pharmacy operations across retail and long-term care services
- Supervise and direct pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow
- Manage inventory, ordering, and medication stock levels
- Ensure accurate billing and claims processing
- Provide clinical support including chart reviews and medication recommendations
- Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
- Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
- Monitor and manage high prescription volumes effectively
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
Required Qualifications:
- Active Pharmacist license in the state of practice
- Strong knowledge of retail and long-term care pharmacy operations
- Ability to work independently in a high-volume setting
- Experience managing staff and pharmacy workflows
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in combo pharmacies (retail + long-term care)
- Experience with inventory management and pharmacy billing systems
- Strong clinical knowledge and experience with chart reviews
Work Environment:
- Retail and long-term care pharmacy settings
- High-volume operations with large staff oversight
- Schedule: Typically 7 days on / 7 days off (flexible)
