Position Overview

Our PET/CT technologists use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest‑quality PET/CT studies, enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety through pre‑screening for contraindications and maintaining radiation safety regulations.
  • Perform aseptic injection technique and handle radioactive materials with proper documentation.
  • Produce high‑quality diagnostic images and effectively communicate results with patients and radiologists.
  • Train new technologists and support PC's.
  • Troubleshoot scanner, coach, and peripheral equipment including monitors, PACS, and coils.
  • Work flexibly at multiple locations such as freestanding outpatient centers, mobile units, and hospital‑based facilities.

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate’s Degree preferred).
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine by the NMTCB or ARRT (N) required.
  • State license as required and CPR certification required.
  • Valid state driver’s license if applicable.
  • 1–2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine procedures (preferred).
  • Ability to work at several locations, strong customer service, organizational and multi‑tasking skills, and basic computer knowledge.
  • Local travel may be required.
  • COVID‑19 vaccination may be a condition of employment.

Physical Requirements

The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee will be exposed to radioactive isotopes and ionizing radiation, and may encounter blood/body fluids and infectious disease. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movements of hands, arms, and legs; see, speak, and hear to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel, or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift non‑ambulatory patients during transfers.
