About the Position
RAYUS Radiology is looking for a PET/CT Technologist to join our team as a full‑time position working varied shifts Monday through Saturday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(90%) Patient PET/CT Imaging
- Screen patients before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure.
- Explain and prepare patients for PET/CT imaging procedures, positioning them appropriately.
- Perform routine and advanced PET/CT imaging procedures on designated portions for physicians, providing patient support throughout the procedure.
- Adjust PET/CT scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques.
- Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with radiologists, referring customers, associates, and peers.
- Follow physicians' orders precisely and adhere to safety regulations.
- Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Maintain a clean work area, promoting safety habits.
- Maintain the ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
- Keep equipment in good working order; clean and disinfect after each use.
- Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
- Assess, prepare, record and administer radiopharmaceuticals per Nuclear Regulatory Commission or state regulations and departmental policies.
- Administer fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) intravenously to patients.
- Demonstrate safety‑related work behaviors to ensure safe performance and environment.
- Report contamination to the Radiation Safety Officer.
(5%) PET/CT Department Support
- Assist with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
- Monitor medical supply inventory and request supplies as necessary.
- Assist with training of new associates, providing resources and technical expertise.
- Perform and record daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality control procedures on PET/CT equipment to ensure compliance with ACR and AOA guidelines.
- Perform daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure compliance with radiation standards and NRC or state regulations.
(5%) Completes other tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- NMTCB or ARRT registered technologist in Nuclear Medicine, current and in good standing.
- Graduate of an AMA‑approved school of radiography.
- Licensed Radiological Technologist in the applicable state, if applicable.
- Current CPR certification.
- Training and experience sufficient to competently perform PET/CT procedures independently.
- Certification in imaging specialty.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual.
- ARRT certification in CT.
- NMTCB PET Specialty certification.
