PET/CT Technologist – Oneida Health

Position: Full‑time; Day shift; 4 10‑hour shifts; No call or holiday requirements.

Compensation

Responsibilities

• Follow protocols to perform Nuclear Medicine and PET scans safely.
• Determine appropriate dosage and type of radionuclide under guidance of the radiologist.
• Order, prepare, administer, and measure radioactive isotopes within license limitations.
• Properly receive, store, and dispose of radioactive materials per NYS Sanitary Code for ionizing radiation.
• Prepare stock solutions of radioactive materials and calculate }}>{dosages.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals orally, intravenously, or intradermally.
• Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals, produce images, and record and process results of exams.
• Calculate, measure, and record radiation dosage of radionuclides with use and disposal.
• Utilize Radiation Safety Procedures to maintain exposure levels as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
• Use keen observation to monitor patient well‑being, recognize discomfort or medical problems, and take appropriate action.
• Provide customer‑service attitude, guide patients through the process, explain steps, and answer questions.
• Maintain diligent records and ensure proper documentation.
• Operate equipment consistently with standard guidelines and techniques.
• Maintain a safe work area and inventory of supplies.

Qualifications

• Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
  • Graduate of an AMA school of Nuclear Medicine (Required)
• License
  • Certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (ARRT or CN ); board eligible (Required)
• Experience
  • 1 year as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Preferred)
