Overview
The Personal Training Director is the leader of the Personal Training department at a Crunch Facility, ensuring an exceptional fitness experience for all members and clients. The PTD communicates and upholds company standards, leading by example to maintain punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness, and cleanliness. The PTD hires, trains, and develops a strong team of Personal Trainers and is responsible for meeting department targets including revenue and member retention.
Staffing and Development (40% of time)
- Hire, develop, and manage the performance of qualified Personal Trainers.
- Train and develop membership and other staff on fitness and supplementation presentations to impact membership retention.
- Conduct weekly or as‑needed meetings with direct reports to review performance, offer direction, motivation, and guidance toward achieving individual and company goals, and provide career growth opportunities.
- Manage the Personal Trainer schedule, ensuring budgeted non‑session hours are submitted to and approved by the General Manager.
- Mediates club employee relations matters for all club fitness employees.
- Disciplines staff under the guidance of the direct supervisor.
Fitness Management (40% of time)
- Ensure that all Personal Trainers deliver high‑quality programs to clients.
- Develop weekly work schedules for fitness staff and ensure proper Time & Labor recording.
- Ensure staff comply with Time & Labor guidelines and manage overtime according to company guidelines.
- Provide member service and support related to fitness servicing issues.
- Assist members and encourage their involvement in fitness services.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly revenue objectives for Fitness services and Supplements.
- Hire, train, and develop new Personal Trainers.
- Regularly train staff on industry updates and teach Personal Trainers to maintain professionalism.
Sales and Service (20% of time: club specific)
- Knowledge of Crunch Certified Fitness Program, including program software (dotFIT, ABC/Datatrak, Crunch-U, VFP, Styku).
- Knowledge of fitness technique and program design.
- Ability to adjust and operate all club equipment.
- Experience in coaching and motivating groups.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Demonstrates a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude.
- Strong member service focus.
- Responds professionally to requests and inquiries from guests, members, and staff.
Employment Eligibility
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- At least 18 years of age.
- Eligible to work in the United States per state and federal requirements, maintaining eligibility throughout employment and providing proof for e‑Verification.
Salary
$40,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year.
