Personal Lines Insurance AgentGunn Mowery is seeking a Personal Lines Insurance Agent to serve as a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for policyholders, producers, carriers, and prospects. This role is responsible for responding to inquiries across multiple communication channels, using independent judgment and a strong understanding of the insurance industry to provide accurate and helpful guidance. The ideal candidate brings prior insurance experience, sound decision-making skills, and an engaging, customer-focused approach.What You'll Be Doing:Reviews and evaluates insurance applications, supporting documentation, and risk history to determine eligibility within available programsAssesses risk experience in relation to the applicable class of businessPrepares and delivers quotes, and responds to inquiries from producers, policyholders, and prospective clientsReviews policies for renewal and verifies accurate rating on new and existing policiesUses automated systems to process, rate, research, and maintain information for new business and renewalsHandles policy changes, including endorsements, cancellations, and related requestsRequests and reviews additional documentation needed to process applications, endorsements, or cancellationsConducts outside evaluations or inspections when requiredCandidates May Also Be Asked to:Visit insurance carriers as needed to support business relationshipsAttend seminars, training sessions, and continuing education opportunities to stay current with industry, technical, and business developmentsMaintain a professional, business-appropriate appearancePerform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational needsRequirementsWhat You'll Bring to the Table:A solid foundation of education and experience, including an associate's degree (or equivalent) or a combination of training and 3–5 years of relevant insurance experienceComfort working with computers and insurance-related systems, with the ability to learn new tools quicklyStrong communication skills—both written and verbal—paired with a professional, approachable interpersonal styleAnalytical and technical strengths, including sound judgment and confident decision-makingThe ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with teammates and carrier partnersProven follow-through, with the discipline to complete assignments accurately while adhering to underwriting guidelines and carrier requirementsAn active Property & Casualty insurance licenseWho Are We:Since 1985, Gunn-Mowery has delivered the Upside of Insurance to individuals, families, and businesses across Central Pennsylvania and beyond.
