Position: Personal Injury Attorney — Plaintiff Side

Location: Washington, DC | On-Site

I’m currently recruiting for an established plaintiff-side personal injury law firm in Washington, DC that is seeking a Personal Injury Attorney to join its team. This is an opportunity to join a long-standing personal injury practice focused on representing individuals and families following serious accidents and injuries. The practice handles personal injury and wrongful death matters across the DC/MD/VA market, with a strong emphasis on client service and personalized representation.

Job Summary:

The attorney will handle a primarily plaintiff personal injury caseload, with approximately 90% of matters involving motor vehicle accidents. The position offers exposure to a variety of injury claims, including complex and catastrophic cases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage plaintiff personal injury cases from intake through resolution
• Investigate liability and damages
• Communicate directly with clients and provide case updates
• Analyze medical records, insurance coverage and damages
• Negotiate with insurance carriers and defense counsel
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and other litigation documents
• Develop case strategy and prepare matters for settlement or trial
• Work collaboratively with paralegals, investigators and other support professionals
• Advocate for clients throughout the litigation process

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school
• Active DC Bar admission or ability to practice in DC
• Can be bared in MD, DC or VA – multiple bar admissions a plus
• 1+ years of experience handling plaintiff personal injury matters
• Strong understanding of personal injury litigation and insurance claims
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client-management and case-management abilities
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
• Trial experience is a plus

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $120,000 – $150,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful
