Personal Financial CounselorLocation: Salem, Oregon (Anderson Readiness Center & various military locations statewide)Key ResponsibilitiesProvide personal financial counseling and education to service members and their familiesAssist clients with budgeting, debt reduction, and financial planningEducate clients on credit, interest rates, and responsible financial managementProvide referrals to financial resources, military aid programs, and support servicesConduct follow-ups on urgent financial cases within required timelinesDeliver outreach, workshops, and financial education sessionsMaintain awareness of federal, state, and military financial programs and resourcesEnsure all counseling is confidential and compliant with policies and regulationsSubmit required reports and documentation, including client contact recordsScheduleCore hours:Monday–Friday: 0800–1630Flexible schedule required to support:Client meetingsOutreach eventsWorkshops and briefings (may occur outside core hours)Work performed:Primarily at Anderson Readiness Center (Salem, OR)Additional travel to military sites across Oregon as neededTelework may be authorized with approvalQualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited institutionOne of the following certifications:Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®)Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®)Strong knowledge of personal finance, budgeting, and debt managementFamiliarity with military financial systems and benefits (e.g., BRS, TSP, SGLI)Ability to provide professional, ethical, and unbiased financial guidanceStrong communication and interpersonal skills
