Personal Care Attendant

Responsibilities

Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and well-being
Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment for residents or clients
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition according to individual dietary needs
Facilitate patient transfers using manual handling techniques or equipment such as Hoyer lifts while prioritizing safety
Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through routine cleaning tasks and ensure infection control protocols are followed
Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, or neurodegenerative conditions is advantageous
Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques
Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
Familiarity with HIPAA privacy regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate personal care assistance while adhering to safety standards
