Fauquier County Government is seeking a full-time Permit Technician to join our Department of Community Development within the Building, Permitting and Inspections Division.
As a Permit Technician, you'll serve as an important point of contact for residents, contractors, and others seeking assistance with permits and inspections.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing friendly, professional customer service at the front counter and over the phone.
- Receiving and processing permit applications.
- Scheduling inspections.
- Maintaining accurate files and records.
- Answering questions and assisting the public and staff with permitting and inspection-related matters.

- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Some general clerical experience involving customer service in the building and construction field.
