Position Title Permanent Faculty

Duties and Responsibilities

The Department is seeking candidates with a strong record of research in theoretical statistics, learning theory or adjacent areas, and the potential to develop an outstanding, independent research program. The Department is particularly interested in candidates whose work is motivated by challenges in artificial intelligence, machine learning, high-dimensional data, and other modern applications. The successful candidate will be comfortable with teaching courses in statistics at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as introductory courses in the Department. Research that creates opportunities for interaction and collaboration with other groups across the Department and the University will be a positive factor in the consideration of candidates.

Primary responsibilities of the position will include high-quality research, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and broader dissemination, seeking external funding for research, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, contributing to research mentoring of doctoral students, and engaging in departmental, university, and professional service activities.

Position Qualifications

Candidates are required to have a doctorate (or foreign equivalent) in statistics or a related field by the start date of the appointment.

Salary Range Dependent on Experience or Dependent on Qualifications.
