Per Diem Veterinarian - General Practice and Surgery

Uptown Paws Veterinary Clinic

Compensation: $145 to $165 per hour, based on experience

Uptown Paws Veterinary Clinic is looking for a per diem veterinarian to join our growing general practice team. We're an independently owned, fear-free focused practice built around quality medicine, efficient workflows, and a positive, inclusive workplace.

This position suits a confident, efficient clinician who thrives working alongside a well-trained team and prefers practicing medicine outside a corporate structure.

Appointment Coverage: Fridays & Saturdays

We're looking for a veterinarian available Friday and Saturday appointments, ideally two weekends per month to start.

Friday

• 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• One-hour lunch break
• 30-minute morning block for lab callbacks
• 30-minute end-of-day block for finishing records

Saturday

• 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Completing records in Vetspire, which includes built-in AI documentation support
• Handling lab callbacks and same-day client follow-up
• Answering client questions related to same-day cases
• Keeping patient flow efficient without compromising care

Every exam is recorded, and Vetspire's AI tools support documentation, so records can be completed thoroughly and quickly.

Surgery Coverage: Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays

We're also interested in veterinarians available for general practice surgery days, covering:

• Spays
• Neuters

Surgery Day Schedule

• 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Able to comfortably complete 3 to 5 procedures per surgery day
• Reviews anesthesia plans, surgical plans, and patient records at least a day ahead (remote access provided)
• On surgery days, responsible for performing procedures, finalizing discharges, and finalizing go-home medications

One Licensed Veterinary Technician and two dedicated surgical assistants support each surgery day to keep procedures moving safely and efficiently.
