Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support timely patient throughput for elective and urgent admissions, interfacility transfers, and direct admissions across all UCLA Health campuses.
- Perform clinical review, coordination, and processing of transfer requests from outside hospitals.
- Collaborate with referring and accepting physicians, executive leadership, nursing supervisors, patient experience, and hospital support services to facilitate safe and efficient patient placement.
- Develop expertise in the UCLA CareConnect EPIC EHR bed‑management system and work with nursing leadership, management, and multidisciplinary teams to support a systematic approach to patient flow and bed management that promotes operational efficiency and a positive patient experience.
- Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, communication, professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to organizational goals related to patient throughput, patient safety, access to care, and quality outcomes.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid California nursing license.
- Experience in patient flow, bed management, or related clinical operations preferred.
- Proficiency with EPIC EHR (bed‑management module) desirable.
