Job Title: Registered Nurse
Job Status: Per Diem
Reports to: Registered Nurse, Site Lead
Responsibilities
- The Registered Nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across the health care continuum. Manage patient teaching, triage, and documentation in Epic. Ensure patient safety, privacy, and timely response to clinical needs. Collaborate with the care team, support quality improvement, promote evidence-based practice, and uphold organizational values.
- Utilizes the nursing process effectively (assessing the patient and situation, identifying the problem, planning, implementing, and evaluating care).
- Coordinate and complete patient assessment and re-assessment to positively impact quality outcomes. Assess barriers to learning and functional status; coordinate, evaluate, and complete patient/family teaching.
- Respond to patients/families in a courteous, positive, and timely manner. Respect patient privacy and confidentiality according to HIPAA; foster a positive environment aligned with PRIDE values.
- Collaborate with team members to solve problems, resolve conflicts, and support team members in patient care concerns. Document in Epic and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration.
- In-basket management, pharmacy contact, medication ordering and renewal; review labs based on acuity and respond to patient messages in collaboration with clinicians.
- Recognize emergency situations, clarify physician orders as indicated, maintain a safe environment for staff and patients; apply safety principles.
- Report injuries using the event reporting system; administer medications and vaccines per policy; monitor effects and report adverse effects promptly.
- Adhere to policies and procedures, including emergency equipment knowledge; identify and report risk management issues.
- Manage telephone triage, assess chief complaint and urgency, schedule appointments accordingly, document medical records, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in or organize regular practice huddles; communicate effectively with team members and physicians; mentor and support team members.
- Follow standard precautions and patient safety goals; contribute to a healing culture and evidence-based care.
- Document responses to treatment and changes in patient condition; ensure accurate order entry and transcription; maintain competency with information systems.
- Pursue formal and independent learning to enhance knowledge and professional development; monitor quality dashboards for assigned clinicians/practice.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Site Lead or Practice Administrator within the RN scope; support strategic goals of clinical practice, AMG, hospital sites, and system.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- RN license, valid in the State of NJ
- At least 2 years’ clinical practice, ambulatory experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) credential
- 1 year of emergency nurse experience
