How You Will Contribute

This opportunity allows you to join A&M PEPI’s MI & C team and develop a broad range of operational skills. You will be exposed early to clients and learn from top practitioners while working on the largest, most complex, high‑profile deals in the U.S. Our MI & C service line creates value through a structured, disciplined approach, providing buyers with knowledge and tools across mergers, acquisitions, carve‑outs, joint ventures, and alliances.

The team works across the full spectrum of the deal lifecycle—from pre‑deal operational and synergy reviews to “Day 1” planning and post‑deal implementation. In addition, we develop and review restructuring and turnaround plans and identify operational risks. Services include due diligence (commercial, operational), Integration Management Office, synergy, TSA, integration planning, Day 1 readiness, and post‑close execution.

Director Responsibilities

  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues, determining client needs, and supplementing standard assessment techniques with innovative approaches.
  • Lead the entire Integration Management Office or a focus area such as Synergies, TSAs, Blueprinting, Day 1 Readiness, Executive Reporting, Integration Roadmap, Communications, or Organizational Design depending on deal size.
  • Deliver large, complex client engagements that identify, design, and implement creative business and technology solutions for PE clients and their portfolio companies.
  • Provide interim functional management as required.
  • Lead Day 1 and Day 100 planning, execution, and performance improvement across:
    • Strategic planning
    • Operational optimization / consolidation
    • Back‑office consolidation
    • Supply chain
    • IT / reporting integration
    • Customer and channel management
  • Drive performance improvement assessments, oversee implementation of recommendations, track progress, and adjust strategies or personnel as needed.
  • Ensure quality of deliverables, manage team and client relationships to deliver exceptional performance.
  • Participate in proposal development and business‑development activities.
  • Lead small engagements or components of large, complex engagements.
  • Practice development: develop solutions, methodologies, point‑of‑view documents, and participate in public speaking.
  • People development: coach, guide staffing, engage in recruitment and retention, and support delivery teams in local offices.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional consulting experience, specializing in merger integration, divestitures, business transformation, and change management.
  • Experience in integration planning and divestitures a plus, but not required.
  • Experience leading one or more work streams in a business transformation.
  • Deep functional expertise in several areas, including:
    • Finance & Accounting operations
    • HR / Organizational design
    • Role and Job Analysis
    • Leadership and Stakeholder Involvement
    • Communications planning and management
    • Supply Chain / Operations
    • Salesforce effectiveness
    • Marketing optimization
    • Pricing/Margin/Mix optimization
    • Knowledge Management and Transfer
    • Success at planning revenue growth and profitability growth initiatives and driving them operationally
    • Program management and leadership experience
    • Specific experience designing and leading execution of change/communications strategies
    • MBA preferred
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    • Flexibility to travel at least 75%

Benefits Summary

Full‑time positions and part‑time positions over 30 hours. Eligible regular employees working 30 or more hours per week can participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings’ fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan. Eligible employees also receive an annual discretionary 401(k) contribution from A&M. Employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy‑two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part‑time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave. The amount of vacation and personal days available varies based on tenure and role type.

The salary range is $150,000 – $225,000 annually, dependent on education, experience, skills, and geography. A&M offers a discretionary bonus program based on individual and firm performance.
