Pentaho DeveloperLocation: Washington, DC 20005 (Hybrid 2 days/week onsite)Duration: 12+ Months contractOverall 12+ years of experience in IT.Must be hybrid no negotiations on this part.Job Description:• Contribute substantially to the business analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment of the enterprise data warehouse (EDW).• Develop code to support unique business requirements and regulatory mandates.• Senior ETL Developer will configure and customize the chosen ETL tool.• Optimally leverage the ETL tool components for developing efficient solutions for data management, conversion, migration, and integration.• Deploy and customize Standard Architecture components.• As a Senior ETL Developer, you will mentor client personnel. Train junior staff on the Integration Methodologies and related supplemental solutions.• Support development of task plans including schedule and effort estimation, under the guidance of an ETL architect.• Strong individual contributor in complex Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence project implementations; Leadership experience a plus.• Proven experience in working directly with business customers.• Strong SQL skills including complex query building and query performance tuning.• Data analysis skills - ability to dig in and understand complex models and business processes.• SQL Server, PostgreSQL, My SQL, HP Vertica, or Teradata database experience.Requirements:• ETL development experience on Pentaho Data Integration, SSIS, and Columnar databases (HP Vertica, Redshift, Teradata, etc.).• Experience in OLTP and OLAP operations.• Expert level Knowledge of SQL and Pl/SQL scripting.• Excellent communication skills should be able to gather requirements and translate them to the developers.• Strong understanding of Data warehousing design concepts/skills.• Data profiling experience.• Defining and implementing data integration architecture.• Skilled at optimizing ETL performance, able to identify and resolve performance issues in a variety of operational settings swiftly and effectively.• Demonstrated ability to analyze data concerning production volumes and batch schedules.• Proven problem-solving/problem resolution abilities.Preferred Requirements:• Dimensional data modeling skills (Logical, physical, conceptual).• Familiar with Agile Development Methodology.• Tableau or an equivalent Business Intelligence/reporting technology.• Control-m scheduling tool.
