Under the guidance of the Associate Director for First-Year Career Engagement, instructors for the PI Education course guide sophomore and junior students hired as Peer Instructors for the First-Year Interest Group Seminars (FIGS) program through their curriculum development process. Instructors for the PI Education course will be responsible for teaching course content, reviewing and approving course curricula based on shared standards and expectations, assessing and grading student performance in a timely manner, and communicating students' progress to the FIGS program. Instructors must complete 6-8 hours of training before January 20, 2026. Instructors must also be able to attend a weekly virtual meeting with the teaching team (date and time to be determined after hire).

Minimum Education requirements: Familiarity with active learning techniques and curriculum development. Experience supervising and/or teaching student leaders. Understanding of the first-year experience.

The course class times for Spring 2026 will be:

  • Tuesdays 5:40-8:40 PM (Busch campus)
  • Tuesdays, 5:40-8:40 PM (College Avenue Campus)
  • Wednesdays, 5:40-8:40 PM (College Avenue Campus)
  • Thursdays, 8:30-11:30 (College Avenue Campus)
  • Thursdays, 5:40-8:40 PM (Busch Campus)
  • Fridays, 8:30-11:30 AM (Livingston Campus)
  • Fridays, 2:00-5:00PM (Cook/Douglass)
