Sutter Medical Center Sacramento Children's Center is seeking a dynamic, team-oriented, founding Program Director for its pediatric residency program. This role involves directing all operations of the Sutter Health Pediatrics Residency Program and clinical patient care provided by residents and faculty. The Program Director will also lead strategic plans for resident recruitment, training, and retention, ensuring superb training experiences while meeting all relevant standards.

  • Sutter Medical Group is a 1,600+ member multi-specialty group.
  • Children's Center residents will provide care for a diverse and medically complex pediatric population within a 40-bed general pediatric unit.
  • The Children's Center is a tertiary care children’s center.
  • The center includes a 20-bed CVICU/PICU, Northern California’s largest NICU, a robust newborn nursery service, and a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department.
  • Physicians work closely with a comprehensive complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, supported by a multidisciplinary team including social work, integrative medicine, pediatric pharmacy, and other pediatric-focused services.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all operations of the Sutter Health Pediatrics Residency Program.
  • Direct clinical patient care provided by residents and faculty.
  • Develop and lead strategic plans for high-quality resident recruitment, training, and retention.
  • Provide residents with superb training experience while meeting ABP, ACGME, and Sutter Health institutional standards.

Compensation

  • Program Director Compensation: $175/hour for 1043 hours/year = $182,525.
  • Salary range: $314,000 - $352,000 /Yr.

Shift & Schedule

  • This position includes 0.5 FTE dedicated time to serve as Program Director for our Pediatric Residency Program.
  • Negotiable clinical FTE (0.25-0.5).

Requirements

  • Board certification in pediatrics and/or pediatric subspecialty.
  • Documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee.
  • Actively involved in clinical care of patients.
  • Current California medical license.
  • Board Certification in Pediatrics.
  • As required for appropriate clinical privileges.
