Pediatric Otolaryngologist - San Antonio, TX The OpportunitySeeking a full-time Pediatric Otolaryngology Physician at a world-class children's hospital in San Antonio, working in collaboration with faculty, residents, and staff caring for a pediatric otolaryngology patient population. Job Duties
- Establish criteria and conduct patient care reviews to analyze and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care provided within the department
- Recommend criteria for clinical privileges and evaluate each department member's privileges
- Review and evaluate adherence to Medical Staff policies, sound clinical practice principles, and hospital integration
- Coordinate patient care with nursing and ancillary patient care services
- Identify and take action on important problems in patient care and clinical performance
- Provide orientation and continuing education for all department personnel
- Submit required reports on review and evaluation activities and recommendations for improving quality of care
- Function as the designated agent for peer review functions on behalf of the Medical Executive Committee Qualifications
- MD degree or equivalent
- Fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology
- Background working with children with chronic illness and knowledge of long-term medications and drug interactions
- Strong physical assessment, diagnostic skills, and experience in patient and family education
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
