Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC General Pediatrician to join Sanford Children's in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This role offers the opportunity to establish strong relationships with patients and their families, while also collaborating with referring physicians and colleagues. The practice includes both inpatient and outpatient general pediatric care, with a focus on building a full practice due to high birth rates in the area.
Practice Info
- Practice includes some inpatient work with newborn nursery, a full scope outpatient general pediatric practice, and C-section coverage when needed.
- Pediatric behavioral counseling was enhanced in 2023 with the addition of an Integrated Health Therapist.
- Six OB/GYNs in town and over 700 births per year.
- The local hospital, Sky Lakes Medical Center, has up-to-date technology and beautifully refurbished patient rooms.
Responsibilities
- Admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age) concerning their physical, emotional, and social health.
- Treat acute and chronic disease, including major complicated illnesses.
- Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
- Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.

Requirements
- BE/BC General Pediatrician.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Pediatric program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/sub-specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
- Experience can be demonstrated by providing a residency log (for recent graduates) or a quality profile from current hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
- Must be able to demonstrate at least 50 pediatric patients in the last 12 months.
