What You’ll Be Doing
The Pediatrician will specialize in the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults. They will promote wellness and education about the prevention of illness and health and direct care for all patients that come to our clinic.
The successful candidate will / be able to:
- Assess the health status ofinfants, children, adolescents, and young adults anddevelop appropriate plans forhealth supervisionandillnessmanagement.
- Assess and diagnose childhood illnesses, including chronic and acute conditions,oranyotherconditionthatiswithintheexpertiseandknowledge of the pediatrician.
- Formulateaholistic,culturally-sensitive,family-centeredplanofcare recognizing the child and family are active participants.
- Provide comprehensive health assessment by teaching,counseling,andadvisingchildrenandtheirfamiliesaboutgrowthand development,healthstatus,illnesses,managementplans,andhealthpromotion, diseaseandinjurypreventing activitiesandprovideanticipatory guidance.
- Provideage-appropriateeducationbasedongrowthanddevelopmental factors, cultural and belief variables and family systems.
- Provideappropriatechildandfamilyeducationregardingpurpose,regimens, sideeffects,possibleinteractionsofmedicationsand/ortreatments,cost,and alternative treatments or procedures.
- P rovidecarethatreflectsevidence-basedpractice,ethicalconsiderations,cost andclinical effectiveness andfamily acceptance and/or satisfaction.
- Coordinatecare,makeappropriatereferrals,andfacilitatesystems intervention to assure quality care.
- Promote growth anddevelopment ofinfants, children,adolescentsandyouadults.
- Useprescriptiveauthority,inaccordancewithstate andfederal laws andregulations totreat illness,improve health status, and provide preventive care.
- Participateinperiodicchartreviewswithotherprovidersin the practice as part of ongoing quality assurance.
- Take callonweekdays, weekends and holidays inrotation withtheotherprovidersinthepracticeandwillexamineandtreatpatientsduring regularofficehoursand,whenoncall,duringevenings,weekends, orholidays.
- Examine,diagnosis,andtreatpatientsinboththeinpatient and outpatient setting per practice guidelines.
- Provideoversightandback-upcallcoverageasneededfor Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
- Promotegoodwillthroughcommunityinvolvementwhen possible/appropriate.
- Pe rform any and all other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Valid Medical Doctor license required
- Maintain all appropriate approvals to prescribe and dispense drugs under applicable State and federal law (CDS DEA license)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Courteous and compassionate bedside manner
