Pediatrician

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the U.S., is seeking a dedicated Pediatrician to join their team in Bemidji, MN. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive care to patients from birth to young adulthood within an ambulatory setting. The position emphasizes a collaborative environment with a focus on patient well-being and access to specialized pediatric support.

Practice Info

• Join a team of four ambulatory Pediatricians, two Child Psychiatrists, and one Child Psychologist
• Ambulatory practice
• Typical patient load is 15-20 patients per day
• Outreach services from Sanford Fargo include Pediatric Cardiology, Endocrinology, and Allergy
• Hospital covered by Pediatric Hospitalist team
• Average daily pediatric census: 2.5

Responsibilities

• Admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age) concerning their physical, emotional, and social health
• Treat acute and chronic disease, including major complicated illnesses
• Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies (Core privileges)
• Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services

Compensation

• Nationally competitive compensation plan
• Annual compensation floor range (based on 1.0 FTE): $237,634 - $307,527 plus estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Experience reflective of the privileges being requested, demonstrated by a residency log (for recent graduates) or a quality profile from current hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 12 months (for others)
• Ability to demonstrate at least 50 pediatric patients in the last 12 months
• Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Pediatric program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/sub-specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
• If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
