For more than 40 years, the Hillman Center for Pediatric Transplantation at UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh has been a global leader in pediatric transplantation, shaping the field through groundbreaking innovation, exceptional patient outcomes, and compassionate care. In partnership with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, our multidisciplinary team continues to advance the science and practice of pediatric transplant surgery.
We are seeking applicants for a one-year Pediatric Transplant Surgery Fellowship that provides comprehensive, high-volume clinical experience in:
- Pediatric liver transplantation
- Pediatric kidney transplantation
- Pediatric intestinal and multivisceral transplantation
- Complex hepatobiliary and transplant-related surgical care
Fellows train alongside internationally recognized transplant surgeons and gain exposure to the full continuum of pediatric transplant care, including organ recovery, recipient surgery, perioperative management, and long-term outcomes. Opportunities for clinical research, quality improvement, and academic engagement are also available.
Ideal Candidates
Applicants should have completed an accredited two-year abdominal transplant surgery fellowship and seek advanced, focused experience in pediatric transplantation. Completion of USMLE Step I, Step II, and Step III is required prior to the start of fellowship training.
