Make a meaningful impact in the lives of children by providing speech-language pathology services in an elementary school setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for both experienced and early-career SLPs, including those pursuing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY). You'll work with students in grades K-5, managing a caseload of 45-55 students and collaborating with educators and families to support student growth and communication development.
Qualifications & Background:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Valid Michigan SLP license or eligibility for licensure
- ASHA Certification (CCC) or actively pursuing Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Experience with pediatric populations; school-based experience preferred
- Strong assessment, documentation, and organizational skills
- Effective communicator with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to use evidence-based practices and adapt to diverse student needs
- Conduct screenings, evaluations, and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Deliver direct and consultative speech/language therapy to elementary students
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families to optimize student support
- Maintain detailed documentation in accordance with school and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams
- Employ creative strategies and engaging activities to promote improved communication skills
