Pediatric Rheumatologist

Children's Hospital of Michigan, a nationally ranked institution and the first and largest children's hospital in Michigan, is seeking a full-time Pediatric Rheumatologist to join its growing Division of Allergy/Immunology and Rheumatology. This employed position offers an 80/20 clinical-to-academic split, with a schedule that can be tailored to research and teaching interests. The role provides an opportunity to join a collaborative, academically engaged team with robust infrastructure and an international reputation in pediatric medicine, surgery, and research.

Practice Info

• Join a team of two full-time Pediatric Rheumatologists, a full-time Peds Rheum NP, and a half-time Immunologist.
• Four clinics per week (4-hour blocks); outpatient services span CHM's Pediatric Specialty Center and three satellite locations across the Detroit metro area.
• Full panel of autoimmune conditions including JIA, lupus, dermatomyositis, vasculitis, scleroderma, periodic fever syndromes, and Behcet's disease.
• On-site infusion center for IVIG and monoclonal antibody therapy.
• Multidisciplinary vasculitis clinic in collaboration with Pediatric Nephrology.
• Cross-institutional collaboration with adult rheumatology at DMC Harper University Hospital.

Responsibilities

• Provide 10 days per month of Pediatric Rheumatology inpatient consult coverage.
• Participate in beeper-based call, limited to Pediatric Rheumatology only, for 10 days per month.
• Engage in academic activities with an 80/20 clinical-to-academic split.
• Participate in multicenter research.
• Teach and conduct research with protected time.
• Utilize dedicated support staff including on-site social workers, Rheumatology-specialized RNs, medical office assistants, and a Peds Rheum NP.

Requirements

• MD or DO.
• Board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics.
• Fellowship training in Pediatric Rheumatology with board eligibility or board certification in the subspecialty.
• Eligibility to obtain Michigan medical licensure.
