Pediatric Ophthalmologist

Job Description

Division of Ophthalmology, Department of Surgery at Nemours Children’s Health, Orlando, FL, is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Ophthalmologist. The position is BC/BE certified and provides clinical care and research opportunities. An academic appointment at the University of Central Florida Medical School is available.

Requirements

• Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology (ABO). Applicants on alternative pathways accepted.
• Unrestricted Florida medical license (or eligible for one).
• Qualified to hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatric Surgery and an appointment to the Medical Staff of Nemours Children’s Hospital.

Professional Qualifications / Experience

• Demonstrated commitment to medical education.
• Interest in developing and implementing evidence‑based care models and outcomes for high‑quality, cost‑effective healthcare.
• Experience working with underserved populations, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and appreciation.
• Interest in scholarly activity; recent publications, peer‑reviewed research funding, or active involvement with national or regional professional societies preferred but not required.
