Pediatric Nocturnist

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Nocturnist to join their high-performing pediatric hospital medicine team in Sacramento, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a physician passionate about caring for medically complex children in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. The position involves contributing to medical education, quality improvement, and program development within a collaborative and innovative pediatric inpatient care setting.

Practice Info

• Provide care for a diverse and medically complex pediatric population within a 40-bed general pediatric unit.
• The center includes a 20-bed CVICU/PICU, Northern California’s largest NICU, robust newborn nursery service, and a Pediatric Emergency Department.
• Work closely with a comprehensive complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, supported by a multidisciplinary team.
• Program structure includes 3 acute care teams daily, 2 Well-Baby Nursery teams (no delivery attendance), and in-house nocturnist coverage.
• Regional teleconsultation support for regional hospitals is provided.
• Medical education participation with both residents and medical students.

Compensation

• $245,000 - $245,000 /Yr.
• Sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.
• Relocation assistance of up to $20,000 for qualified applicants.

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in General Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine with strong pediatric inpatient experience (required).
• A commitment to caring for medically complex children (required).
• Enthusiasm for teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration (required).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills (required).
