Pediatric Nocturnist

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Nocturnist to join their high-performing pediatric hospital medicine team in Sacramento, CA. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a physician passionate about caring for medically complex children in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. The position involves contributing to medical education, quality improvement, and program development within a collaborative and innovative clinical setting.

Practice Info

• Provide care for a diverse and medically complex pediatric population within a 40-bed general pediatric unit.
• The tertiary care children’s center includes a 20-bed CVICU/PICU, Northern California’s largest NICU, a robust newborn nursery service, and a Pediatric Emergency Department.
• Work closely with a comprehensive complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists.
• Supported by a multidisciplinary team including social work, integrative medicine, pediatric pharmacy, and other pediatric-focused services.
• Program structure includes 3 acute care teams daily, 2 Well-Baby Nursery teams (no delivery attendance), in-house nocturnist coverage, and regional teleconsultation support for regional hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Care for medically complex children in a dynamic, high-acuity environment.
• Contribute to medical education.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage in program development.
• Provide regional teleconsultation support for regional hospitals.
• Participate in medical education with both residents and medical students.

Compensation

• $245,000 - $245,000 /Yr.
• Sign-on bonus of up to $20,000.
• Relocation assistance of up to $20,000 for qualified applicants.

Requirements

• BE/BC in General Pediatrics and/or Pediatric Hospital Medicine with strong pediatric inpatient experience.
• A commitment to caring for medically complex children.
