Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to join their large team of pediatric specialists in Fargo, ND. This role involves both outpatient clinic and inpatient consults, treating a wide range of kidney disorders in infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a growing health system and serve a broad patient catchment area.

- Join the region's largest team of board certified, fellowship-trained pediatricians and pediatric specialists.
- Team consists of a BC pediatric nephrologist, clinical support staff, and pediatric trained dialysis staff.
- Support from more than 65 board certified, fellowship-trained pediatricians and pediatric specialists in over 25 medical specialties.
- Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
- Brand new Sanford Medical Center houses a 12-bed PICU, with additional flex beds if needed, a 20-24 bed pediatric unit, and a 40-bed Level III NICU.
- Sanford Health Fargo serves a large catchment area of 1.2 million throughout ND, MN, and parts of SD and MT.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examination.
- Admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with illnesses and disorders of the kidneys.
- Treat acute and chronic kidney disease, congenital renal anomalies, glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, high blood pressure, and dialysis therapy.
- Provide coordinated follow-up care for post-kidney transplant patients.
- Provide care for congenital anomalies, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, fluid and electrolyte abnormalities, and end-stage renal disease.
- Manage urinary tract infections, voiding dysfunctions, nephrolithiasis, renal transplant, acute and chronic glomerular diseases, genetic syndromes, tubular disorders, and cystic diseases.
- Hold a joint appointment as clinical faculty with the Department of Pediatrics at UND School of Medicine and Health Science, teaching medical students and family medicine residents, as well as an upcoming pediatric residency in 2024.

Requirements
- BC/BE in Pediatric Nephrology (Required).
- M.D. or D.O. degree (Required).
- Successful completion of a Pediatric residency program and completion of a fellowship in Pediatric Nephrology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (Required).
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable (Required).
- Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their fellowship training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their fellowship training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement (Required).
- Experience can be demonstrated by a fellowship log if just completed fellowship (Required).
- If not applying directly out of a fellowship, provide a quality profile from current hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications, and demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services of at least 50 patients in the last 12 months (Required).
- If a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months (Required).
