Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE fellowship-trained Pediatric Intensivist to join a well-established team at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This role involves providing initial and ongoing intensive care services for pediatric patients within the adjoining Marshfield Children's Hospital. - Join a team of four other Pediatric Intensivists within a 40-member Department of Pediatrics, which includes all pediatric subspecialties.
- Marshfield Children's Hospital is a 56-bed facility, Central Wisconsin's only accredited pediatric hospital, and one of only four in Wisconsin.
- The hospital features an 8-bed PICU with 24/7 pediatric intensivist support, including sedation services.
- Approximately 450 PICU admissions per year with an average midnight census of 4.61.
- The hospital has a 24-bed Level 3 NICU with 24/7 neonatology support and a normal newborn nursery.
- Marshfield Children's is an ACS Verified Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Program and a member of the Children's Oncology Group (COG).
Responsibilities
- Provide initial and ongoing care of pediatric patients needing intensive care services.
- Cover the unit 24/7 along with providing sedation services to pediatric patients undergoing clinic and hospital procedures.
- Perform history and physical examination, admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment or consultative services.
- Provide critical care management of life-threatening organ system failure from any cause in children, from term or near-term neonate to adolescent.
- Support vital physiological functions, including but not limited to shock, coma, elevated intracranial pressure, seizures, infections, acute and chronic renal failure, acute endocrine electrolyte emergencies, sepsis, heart failure, trauma, acute and chronic respiratory failure, drug overdoses, massive bleeding, central nervous system dysfunction, and kidney failure.

Requirements
- H1B or J1 visas accepted.
- BC/BE fellowship-trained Pediatric Intensivist.
- Current fellows welcome to apply.
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Pediatric residency program and completion of a Pediatric Critical Care fellowship accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training.
- Experience can be demonstrated by providing a fellowship log (for recent graduates) or a quality profile from current hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications.
- Must be able to demonstrate at least 50 Pediatric Critical Care procedures in the last 12 months.
